Strategic partners

Within the SDG Netherlands network, the Global Health Knowledge Centre (KCGH), together with Alles is Gezondheid, fulfils the role of alliance coordinator for SDG 3 (Good health and well-being). Led by Seriana van den Berg, we bring together governments, knowledge institutions, hospitals, civil society organisations and companies. We encourage cooperation and knowledge sharing to strengthen health systems and promote health equity, both in the Netherlands and globally. Health touches almost all other Sustainable Development Goals. Poverty reduction (SDG 1) is essential for access to care and healthy living conditions, clean water and sanitation (SDG 6) help prevent infectious diseases, and climate action (SDG 13) deals directly with heat waves, air pollution and changing disease trends. In our coordinating role, we actively seek links to these goals. For instance, together with partners, we develop and disseminate e-learning modules on sustainable laboratories, Planetary Health and Health Equity, support initiatives for equitable food systems (SDG 2) and contribute to quality education (SDG 4) by making free online learning environments accessible to professionals and students. Our commitment aligns with the National SDG Report 2025, which shows progress on poverty reduction (SDG 1) and labour force participation (SDG 8), but challenges remain on water quality (SDG 6), climate action (SDG 13) and health in good years (SDG 3). Inequality in prosperity (SDG 10) particularly affects young people and migrants and affects access to care. With our coordinatorship, we promote a comprehensive policy approach in which health issues and other SDGs are inextricably linked. ✉️ Seriana van den Berg: seriana.vdberg@kcgh.nl

Cooperation with SANO goes back to 1969, the year the foundation was established. SANO grew out of a collaboration between the NSGH and the Royal Dutch Society for the Advancement of Medicine (KNMG). The aim of the Foundation is to financially support health workers who contribute to healthcare in low- and middle-income countries.

Together with other partners, KCGH, NSGH and OIGT are active in the Global Health Hub Netherlands. In this coalition, we share expertise within various Communities of Practice on topics such as health policy, financing and zoonoses. This joint approach strengthens the bridge between research, policy and practice.

The Global Health Knowledge Centre (KCGH) is a member of the Dutch Global Health Knowledge Institute Network (DGHKI Network). This network consists of knowledge institutes active in the field of global health and brings together organisations from the Netherlands, but also from Curaçao and Aruba. Within the network, members share knowledge and expertise, collaborate on research and initiatives, and contribute to strengthening cooperation and innovation in the field of global health.

Together with other partners, KCGH, NSGH and OIGT are active in the Global Health Hub Netherlands. In this coalition, we share expertise within various Communities of Practice on topics such as health policy, financing and zoonoses. This joint approach strengthens the bridge between research, policy and practice.

NSGH is a member of FESTMIH (Federation of European Societies for Tropical Medicine and International Health), and both OIGT and KCGH regularly participate in FESTMIH projects and conferences. Through this network, we exchange European research results, coordinate training programmes and promote international best practices.

We collaborate with universities, research institutes and healthcare institutions in the Netherlands, and globally through our committees and working groups. We are also actively involved in research and advocacy initiatives of partner organisations, including Wemos and the SDG3 Alliance.
