Stories connecting science and society

Through our podcasts, we share knowledge about global health in an accessible way. In conversations with researchers, doctors and other experts, we bring together science, policy and practice, and explore how global health issues affect our daily lives.

In recent years, KCGH has produced various podcast series in collaboration with researchers, lecturers and storytellers. Each series explores a different aspect of global health, ranging from planetary health to international cooperation and the future of healthcare.

Planetary Health Talks

In 2015, the Rockefeller Foundation and The Lancet introduced the concept of Planetary Health: “the health of human civilisation and the state of the natural systems on which it depends.”

As the effects of climate change become more and more visible, this topic is more topical than ever. How does our changing environment affect our health? What are examples of this interconnectedness - and what can we do about it?

In this series, presented by storyteller and forensic pathologist Ashis Brahma and co-hosted by junior researcher Renée Robbers, we speak to experts and those with personal experience from all over the world.

ECTMIH 2023 Aftertalk

In 2023, over 1,600 international Global Health professionals gathered at the 13th edition of the European Conference on Tropical Medicine and International Health (#ECTMIH2023), which focused on Planetary Health.

Missed it? No problem! In the #ECTMIH2023 Aftertalk Podcast, hosts Doris van der Heijden and Ashis Brahma join organisers, speakers and participants to look back on the key insights, discussions and lessons for the future of global healthcare.
