During the AMR evening on 12 March in Utrecht, the NSGH working groups brought <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zorgvoorklimaat.nl\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Care for Climate<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/nsgh.nl\/nl\/werkgroepen\/gezondheid-en-ontwikkeling\" rel=\"noopener\">GEO<\/a> these different perspectives together. The meeting offered participants concrete examples of how AMR manifests itself and what solutions are already being applied in a variety of contexts.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Internist and infectiologist Mohamad Khalife (M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res) took the audience to humanitarian contexts, including Iraq, where AMR poses a major challenge due to, among other things, the lack of laboratories for resistance determination. He showed how innovative solutions, such as small-scale laboratories and digital tools, contribute to better care in these circumstances. De bijeenkomst bood deelnemers concrete voorbeelden van hoe AMR zich manifesteert \u00e9n welke oplossingen er al worden toegepast in uiteenlopende contexten.\">recent interview<\/a> with MSF, he elaborates on this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Veterinarian Katrien van \u2019t Hooft (Natural Livestock Farming Foundation) then gave an inspiring insight into international initiatives to reduce antibiotic use in livestock farming, including in India, Ethiopia and Uganda. By focusing on animal health, prevention and alternative treatment methods, they are working towards sustainable solutions with benefits for humans, animals and the environment.
