Solidarity in Action – A Strategic Vision for Health Equity
The Netherlands’ Society for Global Health (NSGH), the Training Institute for International Health Care and Tropical Medicine (OIG) and the Global Health Knowledge Centre (KCGH) are proud to present their joint Strategy 2026–2030: Solidarity in Action – A Strategic Vision for Health Equity.
For the first time in their shared history, the three organisations have developed a shared strategic vision. The strategy serves as a joint roadmap for the coming years and sets out how NSGH, OIG and KCGH, each drawing on their own roles and expertise, intend to work together to contribute to a fairer and more sustainable healthcare system.
A shared vision for global health
The world faces major and interlinked challenges. Climate change, armed conflicts, migration, emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance and growing health inequalities are affecting people’s health and the resilience of health systems worldwide.
Guided by a shared vision of a world in which preventable and unjust health inequalities no longer exist, NSGH, OIG and KCGH are committed to health equity and universal access to high-quality care. Through collaboration, education, research and the exchange of knowledge, the three organisations aim to contribute to strong, future-proof health systems and a broader global health community.
Four pillars, one shared ambition
The strategy is built around four pillars that shape the collaboration between the three organisations:
- Platform & Networking – connecting professionals and encouraging the exchange of knowledge.
- Advocacy – to raise awareness of key global health issues and contribute to the social and political debate.
- Science – to promote scientific research, collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Education – investing in education and lifelong learning for healthcare professionals.
In addition, the strategy sets out eleven substantive priorities for the period 2026–2030. These include, amongst others, infectious diseases and outbreak prevention, migration and health, planetary health, health care systems, chronic diseases, mental health, digital innovation, and health in crisis and conflict situations.
Building the future together
The Strategy 2026–2030 provides a common basis for collaboration between NSGH, OIG and KCGH, as well as with members, partners and other organisations within the global health sector. By pooling our knowledge, networks and expertise, we aim to continue contributing to health equity in the coming years, both in the Netherlands and worldwide.
